I love Jesus, my family, and quiet places. I am married to Trey and we have a long-legged blond dog named Jack. I grew up in a small town in the Texas hill country and then after college, I began my teaching career. I’m in my 30th year of teaching elementary. I love simple, but I also look forward to dressing up and being “fancy” every once in a while.
I’m always ready to travel, but I love staying home, too. The Grand Canyon was probably my favorite road trip. Cruises have been our latest mode of travel lately. We usually jump on the quick 4 day Cozumel trips, but we have been fortunate enough to go on an Alaskan cruise and an Eastern Caribbean cruise with our families. We’ve done some camping, too. Tent camping, trailer camping, cabin camping…just make sure the weather cooperates!
I enjoy cooking and baking. I tend to lean toward baking a little more though. I love baking cookies, especially chocolate chip, but I have to make extra if it’s for an event because…well…you have to test them first!
Like I mentioned before, I enjoy the quiet. There aren’t too many opportunities for quiet during the week…I’m a teacher, remember?! One way to spend time in the quiet is to get Jack the dog and go for a walk. It’s a nice little amount of time to rest my ears and enjoy the nice weather or time it just right for a pretty sunset. My goodness God makes some pretty sunsets!
